Director of Support Operations

Pallas Advisors seeks to hire a Director of Support Operations to join our growing team of consultants working at the intersection of national security and emerging technologies. The Director of Support Operations will run the routine functions of Pallas Advisors office management to include: supporting day to day operations across the team, administering pay, benefits, and leave; maintaining company policies and practices; and advising the leadership team on operations decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the firm’s leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s office management responsibilities and general human resources support.

  • Office management responsibilities: 

    • Support day-to-day operations and the other directors in support of client work.

    • Tracks all client invoicing, payments, reimbursables; processes all 1099 invoices and ensures timely payment. 

    • Process all bills and invoices as required. 

    • In coordination with accountants, perform core office management functions that include bill management and payment, office supply replenishment, manage office maintenance requests, notify employees of issues related to proper office management. 

    • Process all payroll and administer benefits and leave requests. 

    • Oversee the administration of health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations when an employee leaves the company.

    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

    • Supports onboarding of new employees. 

    • Tracks and manages actions, reporting to the partners, on issues related to the discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

    • Accounts for and provides computer and IT equipment to the team. 

    • Perform other professionally appropriate assigned tasks as required. 

 

Qualifications

Required

  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in office management. Professional knowledge of Paychex of similar payroll services software is highly desired. Previous experience in small company culture is a plus. 

  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. 

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

  • Positive, professional attitude with a willingness to work hard and do the little things that make organizations successful. Be a team player.

Preferred

  • BS/BA in business administration, social sciences, human resources, or relevant field

 

Salary & Benefits  

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience

  • $110,000-120,000 + end of year bonus

  • This is an in-person position located in Downtown Washington, DC.
