Fellow

Pallas Advisors is looking for Fellows to join our impact-focused strategic advisory firm that specializes in national security and defense, particularly issues relating to technology, new economy, and private equity investment in defense. This is a part-time position for the duration of one semester. The ideal candidate is energetic and detail-oriented with an interest in national security issues. Knowledge in technology or private equity is welcome, but not required. Candidates should have excellent writing skills and be proficient in drafting information papers and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the firm.

  • Support the team by providing tailored research, developing products for clients, and assisting with other tasks as needed

  • Seek to gain valuable exposure to consulting, client-facing work, international relations, and policymaking.

  • Interact with senior officials and officers in the Department of Defense, State Department, National Security Council, and other government agencies and offices, as well as work with leading technology companies and private equity firms.

  • Assist with administrative tasks shared by all members of the team.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of University. 

  • Passion for national security.

  • Willingness to continuously learn and push outside of one’s comfort zone.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).

  • Positive, professional attitude with a willingness to work hard and do the little things that make organizations successful. Be a team player.

  • A sense of humor. 

 

Preferred

  • Working toward a master’s degree in the field of international relations, political science, sociology, business, finance, marketing, or related fields. Note that applicants with additional relevant work experience in lieu of Master’s Degree will be considered and are encouraged to apply. 

  • Relevant work experience in the military, government, private sector, finance, international relations, or related field.

  • Part-time (~3 days/week; flexible)

  • Location: Farragut North (as a result of Covid-19, we are currently working remotely, and will reassess return to the office as conditions change)
