Pallas Advisors is accepting applications on a rolling basis for a DC-based Associate to join our growing team of consultants working at the intersection of national security and disruptive technologies. The Associate will advise clients to improve their understanding of complex national and international security issues. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, detail-oriented professional who is interested in national security and comfortable operating in a fast-moving team-based environment. Candidates should have excellent writing skills and be proficient in drafting background papers and presentations. This is a client facing role that requires exceptional communication skills and ability to learn and synthesize complex information quickly and effectively.
Responsibilities

Responsibility for supporting a Director team and project managing the firm’s client relationships. The firm has clients of various sizes across a wide variety of industries. Associates are expected to quickly develop an understanding of client priorities and support the client in a variety of efforts, such as strategy, growth, government market entry, advisory boards, etc.

Research assigned topics and develop materials in support of client interactions. Must be able to understand specific and implied tasks, conduct independent research on cross functional topics, develop materials for internal and external use, and identify and communicate issues and potential solutions.

Assist with business development opportunities, including identification of potential clients and market research and analysis.

Assist in producing weekly, monthly and annual summaries for clients on topics of interest and firm activity.

Monitor, track, understand, and share industry trends that have an impact on national security innovation with team, clients, and prospects.

Coordinate and execute events and meetings in support of the firm and clients.

Develop and maintain a professional network within the national and international security ecosystem.

Support Pallas Ventures in identifying opportunities and conducting due diligence and market research through closing a deal.

Support the execution of events for the Pallas Foundation, the firm’s non-profit organization dedicated to advancing and developing the next generation of national security leaders.

Perform other professionally appropriate assigned tasks as required.

Contribute in a meaningful, substantive way to national security.

Position may require both domestic and international travel.
Qualifications

Five to eight years of relevant work experience. Work in military, government, public policy, consulting, emerging technology, communications, or other relevant national security experience is a plus.

Master’s Degree in the field of international relations, political science, sociology, business, finance, marketing, or related fields. Note that applicants with additional relevant work experience in lieu of Master’s Degree will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Excellent problem solving skills and an ability to multi-task while engaging with a broad range of clients.

Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and teams to drive towards client and firm objectives

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of and passion for national security.

Willingness to continuously learn and push outside of one’s comfort zone.
